Busch Gardens Further Postpones The Opening Of Falcon's Fury

Below is an official statement from Busch Gardens Tampa expressing the current status of their newest thrill ride, Falcon's Fury.

Busch Gardens new thrill ride Falcon’s Fury includes first-of-its kind design elements, systems and parts. Due to a delay in the fabrication of key component parts, neither the manufacturer nor Busch Gardens are able to complete the lengthy testing processes needed to open the ride to the public. The safety of our guests and team members remains Busch Gardens’ top priority and none of these delays involve safety systems. The ride has been safely operated in the initial stages of the testing process, and all other elements of the park’s newest re-imagined land Pantopia are now open to guests. Busch Gardens will provide updates on the ride opening as events warrant. We are committed to delivering world-class thrills and the best possible ride experience, and we look forward to the launch of Falcon’s Fury, North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower, later this summer.

While the extended delay in the opening of Falcon's Fury may disappoint many, please be reminded that a world class theme park such as Busch Gardens Tampa puts guest safety and comfort before all else. Unforeseen circumstances cant be avoided and can only be resolved as time goes on. All it takes is patience, and before you know it, you'll be soaring through the sky on Busch Gardens' newest thrill ride, Falcon's Fury!

Busch Gardens Celebrates Armadillo Birth With A Gender Reveal Party!

On Sunday, April 27, Busch Gardens Tampa welcomed a southern three-banded armadillo baby to the Animal Ambassador Team. The team will celebrate the new arrival with a gender reveal party at the Animal Care Center this Friday, May 2 at 2:45 P.M.

This is the second baby born to mother Zowie and father Ollie. As Animal Ambassadors, both of the parent armadillos live in Jambo Junction, in the Nairobi area of the park. They are often part of educational talks and presentations to camps and school programs.
Since the baby armadillo will continue to nurse from its mother behind-the-scenes for a few weeks, the father armadillo will participate in the “grand reveal.” Ollie will forage through enrichment toys that the zoo education team will craft to look like truffles. The crafted truffles will be filled with two of Ollie’s favorite foods, his nutrient-packed insectivore diet pellets and bananas. During his exploration, he will uncover colored paper to reveal whether our newest addition is a male or female.
The baby was able to walk and roll into a ball within moments of its birth. Southern three-banded armadillos are the only species of armadillo that can fully roll up into a ball. The baby armadillo currently weighs 118 grams, which is about the weight equivalent to an average cell phone.
WHAT: Baby Armadillo Gender Reveal Party
WHEN: Friday, May 2 at 2:45 P.M.
WHERE: Busch Gardens’ Animal Care Center Nutrition Kitchen
DETAILS: The Animal Care Center is included with any Busch Gardens’ admission or annual pass.
The best way to see the more than 12,000 animals at Busch Gardens is with an Annual Pass. Annual passes start at $13 per month and include benefits like unlimited admission, no blackout dates, free parking and discounts on food and merchandise.
