Howl-O-Scream At Busch Gardens Tampa : Construction Update (8-30-14)

With opening day less than a month away, little by little, new pieces and bits of Howl-O-Scream 2014 "Cursed" are starting to appear throughout the park. While the majority of visible house construction is complete, crews are hard at work detailing the interior portions of the houses for this year's event. Below you can find our third "Howl-O-Scream Construction Update" article. Our latest article features a look at the secluded "Dead Fall" house, as well as a first look at some props for the "Zombie Mortuary" house. To find out more, check out our blog post below.

Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors Now Open!

While not construction related, the Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors has opened for the season at the former Sahara Traders shop in the front of the park. If you'd like to see a complete tour of the shop with over 15 pictures and a sneak peek at this years "Cursed" merchandise, check out our coordinating blog post by clicking here.

"Dead Fall" House Begins Construction

After an extensive wait, the brand new Dead Fall house has started to be constructed! Located directly behind the Tanganyika Tidal Wave ride in the Stanleyville area of the park, Dead Fall is the former home to last year's Nevermore house. The extensive delay in Dead Fall's construction is mainly due to the three sets of Facebook polls that would determine certain elements of the house such as the name of the estate, murder weapon of the gardener, and the name of the ghost who haunts the garden. After the poll results were compiled, the house was ready to be constructed. The white logos you can see are the symbol of the "Hemlock Hall" estate, home to the Dead Fall house. As more information becomes available on Dead Fall, we'll keep you updated with the latest.

"Zombie Mortuary" Props Start To Appear

Upon exiting the "Opening Night Critters" show in the Pantopia Theater, we noticed props resembling those from last year's Zombie Mortuary house start to appear near the site of the house. While nothing major, this dose mark the first visible activity on the house since Howl-O-Scream construction began around the park. We still don't know what's going on inside of the house, but the arrival of these props only mean more good things are coming soon!

More Props Added To "The Basement" House

More visible props have been added to the walkway near The Basement house. As we've reported previously, the majority of props for The Basement house are already in place behind the wooden gates in the pictures below. Before the current props were added, we were able to snap a few photos of the props that lie beyond the wooden gates. Those photos can be found by checking out our Second Construction Update Article and by clicking here. The current props include a few oil barrels & signage for the house including "The Basement" & "Momma's Meats" which remain covered until the transformation into Howl-O-Scream each evening.

2014 Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors Opens At Busch Gardens Tampa

As Halloween nears closer & closer, Busch Gardens Tampa recently opened their seasonal Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors! If you didn't already know, the Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors is THE PLACE to buy Howl-O-Scream merchandise as well as event tickets & upgrades. The BGT Buzz was at the park this weekend to check out this brand new shop & we took a few pictures to share with you. Check out our blog post below that features over 15 pictures from within the shop!

Located next to the park entrance of Busch Gardens Tampa, the seasonal Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors usually makes its debut at the end of August, or beginning of September. The former store that occupied the location (Sahara Traders) closed a few weeks ago in order for the transformation into the Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors to take place.

As noted above,  The Howl-O-Scream Shop Of Horrors isn't for everybody. If you're easily disturbed by blood, gore & adult themes, we suggest you stay outside.

The main entryway to the shop is the area where guests can buy their tickets & upgrades for this years event. Also in this area of the shop, you can find various types of glasses & cups from last years event that are all on sale!

Now moving towards the center of the shop, the "Cursed" theme is starting to arise as several props used throughout the store resemble those used in this years Howl-O-Scream T.V spot.

By now you're probably wondering "Where's the 2014 "Cursed" merchandise?". Unfortunately, the "Cursed" merchandise hadn't arrived by the time we visited the shop. Rest assured, we spoke with shop worker Alessandra and she told us all of the 2014 merchandise should be arriving by the first week of September. Although the actual merchandise hadn't arrived yet, concept art for this year's T-Shirt designs were on display for guests to see. You can find some of this years T-Shirt designs in the area below.

The back part of the shop features Howl-O-Scream merchandise from the "Dark Side Of The Gardens" themed seasons.
