Rhino Rally At Busch Gardens Tampa : Photo Update (9-13-14)

As you may already know, Rhino Rally at Busch Gardens Tampa recently closed a few weeks ago as scheduled. At this point, the closure has not been confirmed as a final closure of the ride or as a temporary closure until the next peak season hits. The following blog post most likely confirms the permanent closure & replacement of Rhino Rally at Busch Gardens Tampa. To find out more, check out our blog post below.

After taking a ride on the Skyride, we captured what seemed to be tires from the Rhino Rally Landover's bundled up near the entrance to the ride. Also next to the tires, water/gasoline jugs were lined up near the entrance as well.  The ride vehicles were nowhere in sight, so this most likely means the ride vehicles have already been disassembled at this point in time.

As for the animals that call Rhino Rally home, they're still on location in the ride area, but there's no word on what their future holds.

We captured a few miscellaneous pictures from the Rhino Rally queue house as well as a few shots of the course.

Howl-O-Scream At Busch Gardens Tampa : Construction Update (9-13-14)

As opening weekend for Howl-O-Scream 2014 is less than two weeks away, the final touches are being placed on each house. Also, the emergence of lighting rigs being installed around several walkways indicate potential locations for this year's unannounced scare zones. To find out more, check out our blog post below.

Zombie Mortuary

More props have been added to the Zombie Mortuary house. Firstly, the main entrance signage has been put up, but has subsequently remained covered throughout regular operating hours. While not visible from the ground, more props including signage to the "Russo Romero" mortuary remain tucked behind a wall of the Pantopia Theater. The "Russo Romero" sign usually gets put next to the main entrance to the house.

Dead Fall

Interestingly enough, the Tanganyika Tidal Wave ride is currently walled off for scheduled maintenance making me believe more work is being done on the Dead Fall house, which is located directly behind the Tidal Wave. From our last construction update article, we gave you a first look at the fa├žade of the house, but little is known about the interior of the house.

The Basement

Not much has changed at the site of The Basement house. At the time we were taking pictures around the area. the back wooden gate of the house was open & technicians were moving in what seemed to be costume racks with black covers over the racks.

Blood Asylum

After a much awaited wait, the main signage for the Blood Asylum house has been put up.  Just like all other houses, the signage has been subsequently covered throughout park hours.

The Experiment

Also recently put up. the main signage for The Experiment house is now visible.

Zombie Containment Unit 15

The construction walls are down & ZCU 15 is now in plain sight. Barricades have been added near the main entrance with "Zombie Containment Unit 15" style caution tape spread across. A metal structure housing the Zombie Containment Unit 15 signage has also been revealed. Blood spatter has been added to the white tarps near the top of the house as well as some rusty looking pipes near the right hand side. Guests walking by cant help but to stop and stare for a good minute or two wondering why this strange looking building is in the middle of a theme park!

Scare Zone Locations

While scare zone information for this year's event hasn't been announced yet, we came across lighting rigs in the Nairobi area walkway (Near Nairobi Train Station). Last year this area was utilized as the "Pain Lane" scare zone, so we're pretty sure some sort of attraction will be put into this area. While still not announced yet, we'll keep you updated with the latest!

"Wild Days" At Busch Gardens Tampa With Jungle Jack Hanna

Wildlife ambassador "Jungle" Jack Hanna returned to Busch Gardens this weekend for his yearly appearance in the park's "Wild Days" weekend event. Jungle Jack hosted shows each day in the Stanleyville theater while participating in various meet-and-greet & special event sessions throughout the day. We took a seat at Jungle Jack's show this weekend and bring you the following photo report from his show.

That just about wraps up all of the animals that were seen at Jungle Jack Hanna's "Wild Days" weekend at Busch Gardens Tampa.

Photo Key Launches At Busch Gardens Tampa

As of this weekend, Busch Gardens Tampa is now offering their brand new Photo Key system to the general public! If you didn't already know, Photo Key is a brand new photo sharing system that enables guests to receive any in-park photos straight to their Photo Key account. We picked up a Photo Key lanyard & tested out the system yesterday while at the park. Check out our review & thoughts in the area below.

Redemption Of Photo Key

Before you can start using Photo Key, you have to stop by a designated vendor to buy a Photo Key plan & set up an account, this is a very brief process. Stop by one of the following locations to buy your Photo Key :
  • Adventure Photo (Front Of Park)
  • Any Ride Photo Location
  • Participating Gift Shops
Once you've reached a Photo Key vendor, you must now choose which Photo Key plan you would like to buy. There are several offers for single day guests as well as annual passmember deals.

After you've decided on which plan suits your needs, a team member will help you set up your Photo Key account. All you need to do is provide a valid & working email address which will later be used to send you your temporary password, which can later be changed to a password of your choice.

After you've set up your Photo Key account, a team member will give you your Photo Key lanyard. Whenever you get your picture taken by a park photographer or on a ride, present your Photo Key lanyard to get your in-park pictures sent straight to your Photo Key account, it's that easy! For those with mobile access to the internet, App Store, or Google Play store, you can download the Photo Key App or visit PhotoKeyOnline.com to view your photos on the go!

Thoughts & Remarks On Photo Key

After testing out the brand new Photo Key system, I give it two thumbs up! I decided to buy the $24.95 passmember introductory offer & I can say I'm very impressed with the outcome! That particular plan includes great perks like a free acrylic photo frame from any photo location in the park as well as 2 free 6x8 photo prints per year! Another amazing perk of the entire Photo Key system is that it will be valid for all special & separate ticketed events like Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town! Overall, I think Photo Key will make visits for tourists & passmembers alike more memorable & I'm glad to have a system like this implemented at Busch Gardens Tampa!
